Does any one raise Masked Bobwhites? If so, are they pure bred?
I see a few advertised now and then, but I never get a response when I inquire about purchasing. Why might that be?

Ziggy,
I'm going to offer up a "my best guess".  It may have something to do with their listing as an endangered species by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  One of the many permit requirements for keeping an endangered species is detailed records on where every one of your birds came from and where every one of them went.  A permit holder cannot transfer or sale any birds to someone who does not also hold a permit.  It may very well be that the people you have contacted realize from your request that you do not hold a permit.  Rather than risk getting "stung" in some sort of undercover sting operation, they have just chosen to ignore your request for information.  Do a google search on masked bobwhite and you will see a link to the USFWS, you can read all the requirments and/or email them directly with any questions you may have.

Good luck,
David
