There are two breeders of Drahtaar near me. They have a special trial they put the pups through to determine hunting instinct, and I ran into about a dozen guys with some great looking dogs doing just that in March. Thought they were Wirehairs when I first saw the dogs. Anyway, here is the info on these two breeders:

Black Dog Farm
7318 Morse Rd.
Alexandria Oh. 43001
Ph# (740) 924-1610

Buckeye Game Club
12503 Shell Beach Rd.
Thornville Oh. 43076
Ph# (740) 467-2868

Both places are licensed shooting preserves. I was told Black Dog was more active in breeding and training at the moment. I have not contacted either one yet, not getting another dog till my new kennel is built. Good luck in your search for a pup! :)

Have some friends over there. Was just planning a fishing trip to go Muskie hunting up in the NE corner. Haven't set a date yet. If I get any more Info on pups from either place I'll post it on here. If you are going to come out here let me know. :P

Gamebirdman,
I don't know if you've seen these sites.

Here's VEREIN DEUTSCH-DRAHTHAAR GROUP NORTH AMERICA web site they have a list of all the beeders in the USA listed by state.
http://www.vdd-gna.org/

Here's another good site they have a e-mail mailing list that's good.
http://www.drahthaar.com

I also live in Indiana and am looking at getting a DD in a year or two.
