My 3rd world server dial up server lets me have 28.8 bps.
Someday when I grow up I hope to get DSL.

50.6 Kpbs (whatever that is) ...................out in the sticks on dialup. It runs as well as some DSL that I've seen, although it is still slow. I wouldn't know what any upload/download stats would be. But I can tell ya how many grease fittings there are on a Massey Ferguson MF 39/78 Cotton/Corn planter. Whatcha doin' Pheasant Hollow? Doin' a survey to see who has the most bytes?

Give that man a dollar The test ping on my test came from Atlanta, GA. All I know is when I had Ma Bell dial up, I was getting originally 38.6 kb/s then storm after storm it went down to 28.8 kb/s. When it finally dropped to 14.4 kb/s thats when I decided I had to do something. Since there isn't any Verizon DSL/Broadband or cable available, it was either give up the internet or go Sat. Just wondering who has the best service around, not that I could possibly get anything else due to rural location. Steve Pheasant Hollow Farm

The Sprint Card I use works fairly well in most places and I think its about $50 a month (work pays for it). I looked into Hughes Net a couple years ago and it was about a $600 installation fee! What are they getting now?

Speed test at work (school division) on Fiber
18248 Download 7420 Upload
Speed test at home using Wildblue Satellite ($79.95 per month) 1588 Download 143 Upload
DSL nor cable internet available here as we have no real towns or stoplights in our county. Its either Wildblue or Dialup and theres no way dialup will work running all these websites. Tried Hughes a few years back and it wasnt fast enough. I could sure do without the $80 a month price tag though.
