I have a young Cortunix quail (7 weeks) that has a very swollen crop.  I gave it grit which it devoured, and I squirted some vegetable oil into its beak and tried massaging the crop. It is swollen and hard as a rock. I noticed it yesterday afternoon (2/23). It seems no better, no worse today. How can I help this bird?

life's like a bucket of wood shavings, except when the shavings are in a pail...then life's like a PAIL of wood shavings :D

All I feed them is turkey starter but I moved them into a new pen and they had access to the grass and clover growing through the bottom of the cage. I think he gorged on clover. Yesterday afternoon I put him in a separate cage with water only, no food.  He is still alive, no better or worse. I think his crop is impacted.
