Here are some eastern Oregon pictures....not exactly a wild bird hunt, but rather hold over birds and flight cage raised birds in a game preserve.  Cold as hell, but fun training for the dogs.

i'm located in central california. the quail populations are going way down  i hunt on private farms and they are starting to clean the ditches off.. so the quail have no place to hide. I'm sorry to hear aobut your dog. my French Brittany just recently as of last week developed complete blindness.. and now im training her son for this season. hope all goes well... pheasant population down here is iffy too.

Look folks I'm from LOUISIANA and in my opinion if you can find a covey of wild Quail anywhere your a lucky man!!
The only Quail you'll find just >>>> near it somebody let loose or escaped.
I've hunted Quail all my life and its one of the most injoyable hunts a man/and his kid can ever have.
We just don't have them here like that anymore.
I could see what ya'll are hunting I can kick a bush with the best dog

quail are actually really common in the  valley. i have a covey that roosts in my back yard. and had a pair hatch and raise chicks in my front yard. it was entertaining.

Man a covey living on my property would be nice.
I have heard a bob or two on the entire property I lease which is over 2 thousand acres in 7 years.
You pretty much grow em or you don't eat em !!
Wild populations are a treasure of the past around here.
A very truly lost treasure.
You should really appreciate what you have because it could vanish and leave only memories.
Memories are wonderful they just don't eat very well.

went quail hunting this morning.. didnt see one, didnt hear one, dog didnt smell one.. 2 years ago we got our limits every time we went. so sad
