I probably should vote no. I'd rather just catch em' and eat em' especially the way I shoot.  Nothing wrong with it to me. I never have, but if the game bird poppulation was low in an area, that might be the only way to hunt them. Also some are going to escape and help the local population.
 Good day

I would if they were flighty birds that were  actually a "sport" to hit.
If I think they are just big fat lazy birds I would rather just go out to my pen and catch them.
I think they can definately be a challenge if raised properly even for the most skilled hunter.
I have seen some birds that fly faster/smarter than the "local" population we have.

my 2 cents

i sold jumbo day olds last summer to 2-customers. they had broaders with grow out pen. they keep them in there for 6-7weeks and released them in to the wild and then hunted them that fall. and they said that they had some excellant dogs that couldnt find them after they got up. said they were meaty, good flyer, and  could really hide.  i think if you release the birds at 6-7-8 weeks old is the ticket.

If you're gonna hunt, do it the real way! Hunting domestic animals is cheating.

Jess, We would hunt wild birds, If we could find them, after you have incubated, hatched, and raised them,, Spend sleepless hours whatching your eggs and  baby birds,,, I figger you can do any thing with them that you want, Sounds like you need to go to the PETA  web site, and give them an ATTA BOY for letting the animals die off by disease or inbreeding because they are overpopulated,, or you can save the whales??? Thats what my son came in one day selling from school!! TEE Shirts for $30.oo dollars apeice to save some kind of whale!! Hell I don't even eat whale!! I told him that what we spent on huntin and fishin licenses ever year is my contrubition to the whale.   We raise quail, and other birds for the enjoyment and the love of it!!!! Let me ask you???? If you have or are hatching birds?? what are you gonna do with them??? ( and if your not, what are you doin here) But are you going turn them loose and introduce a new disease into the wild bird enviroment? You can say that this is what we do,,, But, just about all of us here know our limitations, our large and small farms, and what we can do. Just read some more post on this site.... WE CARE!!!!! I can see by your post,, that you don't know yours. (or if you do please explain it to me) will it make you feel better if everyone turns every bird loose, sick or not, and  destrorys every thing that is there Just so you can pat yourself on the back and holler to your hippie friends,,,, LOOK HERE WHAT I DID!!!  I"LL BET BEFORE THE WEEK IS OVER<<< YOU"LL HAVE SOME KIND OF MEAT TO EAT!!! domestecated, or not!!!!

I AM SAYING THIS BECAUSE MY NEIGHBOR CAME OVER TO LOOK AT MY BIRDS YESTERDAY, (she  thought they were so cute)  WHEN SHE ASK ME WHAT I WAS GONNA DO WITH THEM,, I TOLD HER I WOULD PROBABLY HUNT THEM AND EAT THEM OR WHATEVER? TODAY I GOT A VISIT FROM THE JEFF COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY,, SEEMS I CAN'T DO A DAMN THING WITH THEM!! I BOUGHT THE EGGS, INCUBATED THEM, BROODED THEM RAISED THEM,,, BUT THEY ARE NOT MINE,, ACCORDING TO THEM!!!!

Don't mean to sound so pissed-off,, but rite now I AM!!! MARK

ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH TREE HUGGERS?????

Humane Society??
They are nothing more than a bunch of tree huggers anymore. The single biggest anti-hunting group in America. So what did they say to you?
I think I would have used my 12 guage I keep in the barn just for that occasion and escorted them right out to the road if they did not have a sherriff and search warrant with them. Without a warrant they are trespassing, and i would press charges..I would also make life fun for the neighbor. It is legal to shoot my shotgun at 2:00 A.M everynight at varmits and predators trying to "hurt" my birds. A 12 guage going off about 10 times everynight might get the point across. I dont blame you I would be pissed too. Return the favor to them I would..

Anybody had better bring the law and some warrants before they step foot on my property to start any crap. Way to go Derk, look at what you've started!!   LOL!!!   I must agree with derk on this, I have been known to go out at 3am and unload my SKS with 32 round banana clip attached a couple of times. You'd swear it was a machine gun!! Then set back and listen to the neighbors kids cry and them running out and calling for their yapping dogs, thinking that I shot them all!  LOL!!  Some people are just plain stupid and think they know something. These type if "tree huggers" should spend their time asking this government of ours where in the hell our jobs are at and such.....you know, things that really matter. I work for the SOB's (government) so I see alot more of their crap than most, it's unreal!!  Quit pickin' on the average guy and spend their time doing something realistic and worthwhile. If they had it their way, we'd give it all back to the Indians and none of us including them would exist. Loosers is what we call them around here, most of which don't work and live off of me, if they worked, they wouldn't have time to stand in front of the courthouse every monday holding signs stating things such as, "No Nukes" and garbage!!
