I am a new member here & enjoy the topics, grins & gripes.  My questions is this:

I have a pair of older Golden Pheasants, I am looking for a place to live in Missouri, as soon as, we sell our place here in New Mexico.  Since I have had these birds long before any "new" bird laws went into effect, how do I go about getting permits to travel across statelines ?  As well as the proper permits in MO. so I can breed my little guys. Do I order them from Mo.?  or do I get the proper papers from my local Vet? 

Any ideas or directions to point me to, or phone #'s, would be greatly appreciated.

To get them into MO, from their website: "Many states, including Missouri, require either a negative pullorum test within the past 90 days or participation in the NPIP for poultry to legally enter the state or be exhibited at public exhibitions (2CSR 30-2.40)."  http://www.mda.mo.gov/ah/poultry.htm

I would contact them at the numbers provided on the page.  They are easy to work with and will hlet you know all the steps you need to take.

There are no requirements for a permit to keep & breed this species in Missouri.  What part of the state are you headed to?
