I'm looking to keep some C. c. japonica hens for laying eggs for food. I'd like to find some nearby (I live in Santa Cruz CA USA) to avoid shipping, but am willing to have them shipped if necessary.
Specifically, I want 5-10 young adult hens, old enough that I don't have to brood them, young enough that they've just started laying.
Anyone with info about japonica birds in the USA (including any advice about keeping them), your input is appreciated. please respond to this thread or email myriadin@yahoo.com.

You can also try calling local feed stores and see if they have any.
Im in S. Cali and the local feed store I go to has bobwhites. Others may have differnt.
