Hi all my week to week and a half baby bob whites are doing great!! they are thriving the the little brooder we have them in.  I just had a few questions for ya'll!!

1) will their food need to be ground for the rest of their lives or will they be able to eat the crubles at some point.

2) when do there sweet little songs become bob whites?

3) how soon till they really learn to fly? they are already jumping and trying to fly but so far nothing more then a couple of inches off the ground.

thats all I can think of for now.  Thanks! Crystal

1) No, you can usually stop grinding after the second week, depending on the size of the crumble.

2) Not for a few weeks.

3)  There is flying and then there is flying.  They can get airborne around 4 or 5 weeks, but they will not be ready to fly (meaning for hunting) until 14 to 16 weeks.

No plans on hunting them:)  too many hawks to release them in our area too.  I love to hear their sweet little songs and am glad to hear there are more weeks to listen to it.  Crystal
