I'm finding it difficult to find out what permit if any, to raise chukars as a hobby and not for sale in Oregon.  Thanks

I asked the ODFW bird lady where I am from and she didnt know of any issues. She told me that she would let me release them on public land, if I wanted, with just a permission slip from her. I am in the process of starting up my operation, so I wanted to know. BUT, she did tell me to check with local and state police for any laws, of which I am not aware of but, you know the govment...
So, I am going to raise my birds and release them with a permission slip and go from there. I am going to talk to locals that raise, sell and release birds, I figure they should know if there are any laws. So, I will just take their word.

I found this on the http://www.dfw.state.or.us

http://www.dfw.state.or.us/resources/forms_applications/

Bottom page listed as other under Occupational Licenses

http://www.dfw.state.or.us/wildlife/license_permits_apps/

then Oregon Administrative Rules for holding or propagating protected wildlife (pdf)
All this will take to to the first link which is a pdf.

This is the 2nd time Steve posted the info to his inquiry,

reminds me of a cat checking doors, looking for the one into summer, you open the door for them and they look out, dont like what they see and go to the next door,

'dawg is doing the same thing, keeps figuring he'll get a different answer in another door.
