Title: Permits info
Post by: brentsquailfarm on January 30, 2008, 08:42:00 PM
If you want to raise and sell any type of quail or pheasant than you need a wildlife breeder/dealer permit. That permit is $50 and expires every year on June 30. If you want to sell cleaned quail you will need a special commercial quail permit. That permit is $25 plus something like $45 for a rubber stamp that they send to you. An the last permit is the wildlife importation permit and it is needed if you are plan on getting birds outside of AR. That permit is $25 too. Hope this helps anyone in AR that are planning on getting started in the gamebird business or hobby. I would also say call the AGFC and ask for the rules on all the permits. For there is alot of paper work to do.       s016 To the gamebird hobby.

The AGFC has change the rules on selling quail to private individuals. It now states that if you sell to some one that does not have a permit. The quail must have a band on it. The bands are available from the AGFC. They also change the rule on selling cleaned quail. It now states that the package that there in must be stamp instead of the quail.
