im sorry if this topic has come up but i was woundering what ration i should use of starter and soybean meal and how do you grind your feen what do you use i thank every one

It will depend on the percent protein in both the starter and the soybean meal. Starters range from 24 to 28% and soybean meal will range from 40 to 48%. It also depends on what you want to end up with. If you could answer these questions, I can walk you through the calculations. Just as an example if you had a 24% starter and a 48% soybean, and you mixed them 50:50 you would have half the protein from each or 12% from the starter and 24% from the soybean for a total of 36% If you went with a 75:25 ratio than you would have 18% from the starter and 12% from the soybean giving you 30% protein. Anyway, if you need help when you find out what is available and what you want the end product to be, just let me know.
For grinding, if it is just a little, you can buy a small food grinder from WalMart for around 12-14 dollars that will work. You can go from there to the larger food processers or you can find a coffee or wheat grinder that should work also.

well the best for starter i ahve been able to find id a 24 and is it the higher the protean the better or what i have no-medicated so what do you think i should do

See what is available for soybean meal and what the protein level is. I usually push the protein the first week or two at 30 to 32%, then drop it back to 28 to 30%. This seems to work well and gets them off to a fast start. You are probably looking at 6 parts starter to 4 parts soybean meal. A part can be anything, you can use a can, bucket or you can weight it. Either method is accurate enough for this. This will get you around 32%.
