s144 I've lurked around here for a few months.

I've been just downright giddy! They've been popping out like popcorn. WOOT! WOOT!

Here's the first batch in the makeshift brooder.

These are late or I'm early. It's looking like a 80% hatch. Not great, but I haven't done this in 30 years!

Thanks guys. We're starting up a little Quail operation called Wiseacre Farms LLC. My wife said that since we're both a couple of smart-alecs, the name was appropriate. These are some Bobwhites that were given to me and my Jumbo Coturnix eggs are on the way.

tu2 I checked the Bobwhites once again this morning and more hatched overnight! It looks like a 94% hatch and one egg had about a 1/4 round pip, but didn't make it. Looking forward to learning and sharing on this site.

SA Quail Farm sounds good. Glad to see I'm in common company.  i9

My Coturnix are hatching as I type. They started last night. I had to open up the hatcher and remove some shells to make some room in there. It's packed to maximum capacity (250) and I'm scared the hatchlings might hinder some of the late bloomers from getting out of the shell. This is so much fun. Those things are popping out like popcorn!  tu2

These little dudes are so cool. They look like little Bumble Bees with legs when they first hatch.
