Flowing waterer?

Who had the plans for the pvc waterer that circulates water from the burried trash cans? I am getting ready to attempt the setup and can't find the old post to refresh my memory. If I build a roof over the trough with just enough room for the quail to walk under, will the birds walk under the roof to sip water? I am trying to keep the birds from soiling the water. Also, how do you keep a piece of trash, feather, etc, from clogging the exit tubing? That could make a mess and run you out of water in a few minutes. Do you make your trough cut at the very top or just above the center line? Hope someone can help. Thanks, RF

I used three inch pipe on mine and have it running through three different pens. On the flight pen attached to my brooder house I have smaller holes centered in the middle, in my regular flight pens I have larger holes higher up on the PVC because the birds are larger when they are in these pens. I got the idea from the Quail Ranch of Oklahoma like mentioned above.
