I'm not real sure what I have here.  The chicks that aren't Bobwhites are a dark chocolate color with a white patch under their necks.  The feet are also dark.  Someone mentioned that they might be Tennessee Reds - if that is the case then I can't raise them with the Bobwhites can I?

Thanks, Audrey

those are Tennessee reds there.we have put them with bobs before and had no problem.just can't have them together during breeding time.but we brood them together and keep some in the same flight pen.they have always gotten along here.

If you didn't breed any tenn red's how did you get tenn red quail eggs mixed with your bob's I'm pretty sure tenn red's are half bobwhite an half ?  could anybody tell me what the other half is thank you

Some local "good ole boys" are helping us get started.  The guy that got us set up with the incubator, etc.  went to another breeder and got some eggs that he didn't want to incubate - all he said was that some of them had probably been sitting too long and wouldn't hatch.  He didn't mention two different breeds.

I'm glad to know that I can keep them together through the process.

Thanks so much for the info!  Audrey
