Title: Whatcha talkin bout Willis?
Post by: Pheasant Hollow Farm on January 15, 2009, 07:48:02 AM: Late afternoon while I was looking out the kitchen window, I notice the deer hanging around by the barn.

Since I still had released birds from 1-2-09 for a family hunt, some of the birds have returned and I have put out some food for them as well.

Seems that the deer enjoy the special mix as well. A total of 6 deer were around the barn and up at the back pond. Later, just before sundown there were a total of 11 deer at the back deck eating whole corn, pop corn and peanuts.

I figured that this picture was worthy of a post.

Then put the deer in the freezer.

I was watching the deer there and had the camera handy and I caught the pheasant in my eye flying over and then landed on the barn roof.

I wish I had gotten that bird in flight. This morning the two cocks were fighting at the top of the pond area. They seem to be marking the areas early this year.

If they make through the winter without getting taken out by the Red-Tailed Hawks, I will release 1doz Melanistic hens. This way if they do propagate, I can identify them.

I've got another picture of a doe by the barn I will post as well in this section and make the topic as caption this photo.

Cold out here this am clocking in at 10* and snow flurries.

That picture was taken with a Canon digital EOS Rebel/XSi 12.2 megapixels
with a Canon Zoom lens, EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6
