Wasn't expecting any to hatch till Sunday or Monday.
It is dry, just sticky feathers due to the gunk in the egg.
Three more eggs still in the hatcher.

Thanks slider !

Lots I do not know about Peafowl....

The other 3 eggs have been candled (yesterday). One looks like it "quit" about 1.5 weeks ago. The other two look nearly all black inside, except for the air pocket. I can see no movement.
I'll leave the 2 for another couple days, just in case. Not expecting anything though.

Wee guy is now 4 days old. Lonely as heck ! I put my hand in the "brooder" this morning and it did a couple happy dances. Running/hopping and wing flapping.
Leave the room and the whining starts again s47

Found a person in Sask that has one she will part with. My have to take a road trip in the next couple days.
Another person is going to/from next weekend, but next weekend I'm headed out for work.
So, waiting to hear about their hatch dates & see if the white one mentioned comes from a white pair.
The other 3 (total of 4) she says are India Blue.
If all eggs are fom the same pair, she may be confused  about what she has.

The woman sent the chick with a non bird person. Didn't know to keep it warm.
When it got here it had hypothermia.
Put under heat lamp at about 8:30 PM and it was still alive at midnight, but just laying down and still couldn't stand.
Dead at 05:30 (AM).

Likely had a run down system as well. She had been feeding normal chicken starter. As well as other things that would have brought the protein levels down.

Sometimes you eat the Bear, sometimes the bear eats you.

Meanwhile, mine is getting more and more energy each day. Wife and I have one very spoiled bird on our hands.

Work got delayed, leave Wed.

They can sure get spoiled!  I sold all my pea chicks earlier, but had one egg laid late and this one hatched and my wife decided to keep it as a pet.  I got tired of it squaking everytime I went into the bird house to feed or clean so I finally put it in with 3 young porcelein chicks.  It is as happy as can be now playing with them.

Peafowl chicks are my favorite chicks. They get to know you real early in life and will bond just like a dog. Once one has bonded with you you have a friend for life..It takes a special person to care for peafowl because they are a very special bird and the call is what most raisers like about them.
Reeves I hate to hear about the chick that died there is such a thing called common sence. Some people just do not have it.

Well, Peepers is also well bonded to the wife. She visits lots and takes bugs for it.

Not Grasshoppers though. Says thay are too big for him/her now, and no way will she rip the hoppers apart for the bird  s020

It runs to the wife every time she visits. Eats out of her hand and pecks her fingers. The other two are shy though.
This means Peepers gets most of the bugs !

I'll try and get some pictures, maybe even a video ?

Two buddies I bought for company, as "Peepers" was the only one I hatched.
