Hello, I'm a new member.  I need some advice on shipping bobwhite quail eggs overseas.  A friend in Croatia that studies gamebirds at a university in Croatia asked me to send him a shipment of 200 eggs. They will be for training pointers and perhaps to use in scientific research.  I've asked several hatcheries if they ship overseas, so far no one said yes. Thus my idea to to have them shipped to my address in Texas and then send them to Croatia. FedEx doesn't ship perishables overseas. Another possibility is  to use a 'forwarder". Are there any ideas about how to ship overseas? What about USDA regs?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

About me?  I'm an avid quail hunter from Ft. Worth. I am also a falconer. I hunt ducks with my trained peregrine falcon. I own a GSP that guns hunts and works with the falcons by flushing ducks.

FYI,

I was able to successfully ship eggs to Croatia. I sent 100 bobwhite eggs via Global Express. It took 7 days. 5 eggs had cracks the rest were ok which is amazing considering how far they went.  I called the post office several times and got different answers every time, so I just decided to ship them and see - it worked!

just to update forum members...  quail eggs sent to Croatia are now hatching. These might be the first bobwhites in that part of the world.
