When is the best time of year to train the birds to come back to the pen? could I start this training for the birds today? Sorry for all the questions I just dont want to turn them lose and never see them agian.

leave them in atleast a week.  and then only let out 20- 25% of the birds.  i have 2 johnny houses that started with 25 birds a piece.  they each have 20 now and the others are still on the property but just choose not to go back in the house.  As long as they hang around i am happy.

just leave 1 bird in the trap set 3 to 4 out work the dog on the birds then at or after dark go get the trap... not all will come back to the trap every time..
you want one that makes alot of calls roster or hen...  mike
