Thought i would pass on something we tried this year. This seemed to concentrate the birds ,and supply them a constant food sours. It also gave us a good controlled environment to get young dogs in wild birds. We set aside a 400 acre pasture and declared in only for dogs under 2 years old.and only hunted it 1 day per trip. We set up 55 gallon feeders on 6 foot legs with timed spinners feeding whole corn at 8.00 am and 3.30 pm. Next we set 55 gallon barrels 3 inches off the ground directly under the corn feeder, filled with Milo put slits in the side just big enough for the red seed to be picked out , painted  them dark green this let the red Milo show up well. Next we circled it with livestock panels, (2) 16 foot x 36 inches staked them down to keep out the cattle and wild pigs then filled in with brush. We found as many as 4 different coveys within a 40 -50 acre area around them.
