Some Quality Characteristics of Pheasant Eggs with Different Shell Colors

(1/1)

Pheasant Hollow Farm:
For those that either raise pheasants or buy pheasant eggs for hatching,   check this PDF out.

It seems to hold true since I have incubated many pheasant eggs and have had them in colors or either blue, white, tan. The highest hatch rate that I have had was with the brown and olive colors. the chicks that hatched out in the lighter colored shells were small, deformed or died in the shell.

Good information to copy and place into your hatching file for future reference.

Steve;   Thanks for the info.  I had no idea that the color would make that much of a difference.  My Pheasants are just starting to lay so that info will come in very handy.    Thanks
