I was wondering if anyone here has ever used Silkies or other chickens to hatch quail eggs. I was told that a Silkie would sit on anything but I wanted to see if anyone knew first hand. :D

Silkies do just fine on pheasant jumbo quail and chukar eggs, as power stated they tend to break little quail eggs. There are several other options though look into japanese, old english, dutch or cochin bantams. All are around 1 1/2 lbs and do just fine.
Silkies are sitting machines, you may want some anyhow to hatch out the bantams.
