I just received several pairs of Hungarian Partridge that still have the bitts in their mouth.
Don't know much about these devices because we don't need them on quail.
Do they or should they be removed so that the birds can mate.
Looks like the rooster might have a tough time holding on

I would talk to the folks that I got the birds from and ask them why they were using them. In any case it is best to let the hens pick there males and put them in breeding pair pens because they are very bad about fighting during breeding season.. Supply them with enough pen space and you should not need them in place. But as I stated first check with the people you got them from...
