Post by: boone on July 02, 2004, 09:08:34 AM
I had a 1000 bobwhites shipped to  me they took 8 days .
I called the farm about 3 days after the eggs had been shipped.
with no reply . i sent emails with no replys .i got the eggs set them.
I had a 36% hatch.
I had some valleys that i had put in the same incubater 2 days before the
bob and had a 79% hatch
they sent the eggs U.P.S ground.
I have not had a reply from the farm yet.

no idea about  the company or person you got them from, but historically i've had low percentages on shipped eggs...50% would almost be unbelievable..considering yours spent 8 days in the mail, i'm surprised any hatched...I just ordered 12 chicken eggs from texas..they had about a 500 mile trip.....when I candled only 6 had any development and out of the 6 5 hatched....i'm happy....the same eggs probably would have had a 80% hatch rate if they hadn't been shipped..
