Title: Brower vs GQF
Post by: BravoSpinone on February 03, 2009, 10:35:22 AM
I have one GQF box brooder.  Had good results with quail, however,  I was not thrilled opening the top to fill feeder & waterer.  I was thinking of buying (4) Brower brooders until I read a post indicating the external feeder & waterer did not work well for quail?

Wondering if anyone has a differnet experience with the Brower brooder and quail.  Or a better setup for GQF feeding/watering quail?

Thanks,

Dan

Your are right outside feeders for baby quail do not work. You can get away with opening the lid for about 1 week till they start flying out. I wish that GQF would design there gamebird brooders with a door on the front of them just large enough to take the feeder and waterer in and out. That is why I build most of mine with a sliding door on the side and front of them.
This year I think that I will cut a door on the top in the front of the GQF brooders with a hing just large enough to get them in and out with out raising the whole front part of them.
