Title: Releasing Ring necked pheasants in an area with a resident Partridge population
Post by: ahayat on July 13, 2009, 01:31:41 AM
Will releasing ring necked pheasants affect existing partridge populations in any way (territory, habitat etc)? There's definitely enough food / water / cover for both, but i wanted to know if it could have another adverse affect to either of the species if they are made to coexist.

Note on above: The area already has a self-sustaining partridge population (previously released). Pheasants now being introduced. There are some predators, but no hunting in the area.
