Poopy feet

I have a small group of bobwhite quail (22). They are about 10 days old and some of their feet are getting poop cemented on them. I just moved them to a mostly wire floor a couple of days ago, but the feet are still getting poopy. Any good ideas on how to get the stuff off? Thanks!

Smaller than 1/4 in. - this is their first brooder cage. I'm going to move them to a bigger cage tomorrow - it has 1/2in wire. I just need to get the poop off their feet. Was wondering if there is any way to do that, aside from cleaning each one individually with warm water.

Quail booties work very well. You will need two pair per bird. That way while washing one, the others can be worn, Also make sure the little laces are tied or they will trip and fall. Also, I find if I buy all one color, there is less arguing. The color you pick should be gender nueutral as well. I have had male birds refuse to wear yellow booties.
If that doesn't work try cleaning the brooder. : )

I've already tried the little booties - you're right, they argued over the color. Once we settled the bootie issue they demanded matching bonnets. Thanks for all your help!
