I've got 250 Pharoah eggs in my incubator. Before I put them in there, I told a buddy I would hatch out some chicken eggs for him. I figured since the incubator will be running, why not?

I've heard that Chickens and Quail don't mix as far as diseases, etc. Am I making a big mistake hatching Quail and Chickens in the same incubator. I figured since they were little bitty, it wouldn't matter, but now I'm getting paranoid. The Chickens hatched overnight.  dk2

I think a lot of people would agree there is some risk there as you have heard. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't mix the two.

Are they due at the same time? I hatch turkeys while my quail eggs were in there but they were due at diffrent times and I have another incubator for hatching.

They're hatching at different times. It's a Sportsman 1502 w/ Hatcher in the bottom. I plan to THOROUGHLY disinfect the hatcher tray before the Pharoahs hatch. Just nervous. My buddy wants to bring over another 2 dozen chicken eggs when he picks this hatch up.

The 250 Pharoah eggs are literally my "start-from-scratch" operation. I intend to get my breeder stock from this hatch and go from there.

Taproot, I think you will be o.k. Just disinfect good and don't have them hatch at the same time.  ty2 Jim
