Can the ground hog be caught in a Hava-Hart-Trap? If so what is used for bait.

Isnt groundhog season open year round down there?

Yes, but I don't want to shoot it.

I dont know how you would want to get rid of it then. I know what I would do and it isnt trap it to make someone else put up with it. They destroy the soybean fields up here and most dont make it through the summer.

Shall we say Taxidermy?

I would get rid of it, i dont think it looks like a taxidermy specimen though.

The pictures don't do it justice. The ground hog has a nice silver coat to it.

I guess I just couldnt bring myself to getting a groundhog mounted. I have a pheasant flying 2 quail, 2 ducks and a grouse. I enjoy looking at birds much more than a groundhog.
-
Steve I looked it up and fresh lettuce or other vegetable and even dry dog food can be used to catch them in a live trap.

I must admit, a stuffed groundhog would be purty neat!
Do you know where he is living? I would think that it would be much easier to catch him close to home, especially if you could form a trap over it's hole and close off the other hole and possibly smoke him out if you had too. I've got a terrier that will bring one out of its hole one way or another.
