Title: Looking For An Incubator Thermostat
Post by: awolf on October 07, 2007, 03:35:51 PM
If anyone happens to have a spare thermostat that they could part with I would like to build a better incubator. This will be mt second year. The first year all went well except for the temp control in the incubator. My thanks to the forum moderator and all that contribute.

Actually, this link might be more what you want.

I have a slightly simpler version.  I use them for brooder thermostats.  They have shorter knob shafts (genetics), so they have to be mounted in a spot without much insulation.  I was disappointed in this, as I wanted to use a couple for a hatcher, using a cabinet with 1 inch walls.  I'll measure one in the morning, for you.

I also have a few with remote bulb sensors that mount outside, with probe mounted wherever you want it.  They wouldn't be a lot cheaper than the one at Cutler's, but sensor could be mounted nearly anywhere.

What size/type incubator do you have?

I'm sorry! I meant the wafer type that controls the heating element. That's the gadget I am looking for.
Thanks

Cutler should have the wafers, and the complete wafer thermostats.
