  Out of my 10 Texas A&M quail eggs I incubated, only 1 hatched.  The rest of them were either not fertile, or just didn't develope fully.  I feel so sorry for the 1 baby chick being alone.  I put a small stuffed animal in there to keep him company, and so far he is snuggling up to it and seems to be thriving.

I found a guy that lives about 45 minutes from me that just hatched some A&M babies the same day as mine hatched.  So I am going to his house tomorrow to buy some from him.  I am assuming since they are all gonna be the same age, and same breed that there will be no issues in putting them together.  I just feel so sorry for the one being alone, and hope this is the solution.

Being Corturnix maybe but do not count on it. When you put them together put them in the pitch black dark for several (at least 8 ) hours. Then keep an eye on them. Mark your chick so you can tell it from the others.. Use a black light in the brooder...

The new babies are here!!!!   j2  I ended up getting 14 that he had.  Thank goodness they were the same age and all as the one I had hatch.  And so far, so good.  Everyone seems to be getting along.  This is my first time owning quail.  And I must say...they are the cutest things right now.  I can not get over just how small they are.
