Title: bad birds from strickland
Post by: DoubleL911 on February 23, 2008, 05:58:23 PM
In November we set 4000 eggs from 4 different suppliers. The eggs that hatched from Strickland was 55% all other suppliers hit around 80%. Of the 55% that hatched we had lots of birds missing toes ,missing the top parts of their beaks, and crooked feet.
I will probably pass if they are the only place i can get eggs.

looks to be from what is wrote on here that they may possibly have a fertility problem in the winter months - but besides fertility sounds like a serious problem if you are coming up with missing toes and beaks gone. Even if you don't plan to ever order from them again you may want to let them know of this problem -
Don't pass on buying quail eggs when you could always buy them from me !
what kind of quail were they? i assume Northern bobwhites?

Same old song and dance.
We cant control how the eggs are handled when we ship them.

Acorns don't fall far from the tree.
Some family trees look like a telephone pole.

yep Larry,  I done that last year with them and it is the LAST year. I learned from them and I won't DO people like that. I try to do all I can to help everyone out and I care about my eggs. I've seen the way things are done and I don't like getting crapped on. It was hard enuff to buy eggs before and and I may miss a few eggs but I try to get all the best ones sent out I can. If I have a doubt about an egg it goes in MY PILE(culls) not the customers shipping is hard enuff on eggs. Thanks, and GOD BLESS, Tommy
