I drop temperature one degree, and raise humidity 10%.  But I use higher humidity to start.  Also, I have never hatched Coturnix, except with Bobwhite, or Chukar eggs, just because they were there.  Hatch rates were always 75% plus.  Lower humidity might give better results, but I didn't notice any real difference between hatches at Bobwhite, or Chukar humidities.

I have a homemade still-air incubator that I'm trying to get ready for coturnix quail eggs. The temps are ranging from 96F-101F and humidity is around 60-61%.  I am using a digital temp/hygro gauge.  I'm worried the temps are varying too much - I could turn the thermostat up, but then it will go over 101F.  Do you think it will work still to hatch with that much variation in temps?  I don't know what to do to keep it so it's not cooling off so much without it going over 101F........  It is in my kitchen which is around 66-67F normally.

That a lot more fluctuation than I would want.  I assume a fan would help some.  Record tempertature hoourly, or more often, at even intervals.  Find the average temperature, then adjust that average temperature to between 99 and 100.  As long as highest temp is under 103, you should be safe.

It's about 11x17 and 11 high.  I think it's going to be too small - I think I'll pick up a larger styrofoam container today - this one was one I had on hand.....

It has a plastic cake pan in the bottom with a thin layer of water and wire over the top.

That is what I was going to suggest to you and you can get them on ebay. Do a search or go to a local comp. repair shop there cheap so do not get taken in...

Those are in most computer suply stores for $10-$20.  Any 12 volt DC power suply with a amperage rating at least as high as what fan needs will work.  Some old computers used AC fans, and I think they use them for radon removal.  What ever you use use epoxy glue to put screen on both sides of fan.
