I recently hatched 13 Italians and 2 japs, (last fri).
1 i noticed was wondering away from the others and making a lot of noise so i checked him over and his eyes were grey/glazed over, so i guessed he was blind, he soon became tired and not moving around, wouldnt eat or drink (although i tried to feed and water him)  Another had a deformed head, not badly, but still deformed. Both died this morning.

These eggs were set a few days after i got the quail. they were 8-9 weeks old (which i didnt know at the time) and were apperently fed on greens and chicken layer pellets.

Other 13 chicks are looking lively, just wondering why these were deformed/why they died. Or if others are likely to.

Thanks

These could be incubation or brooding problems. I have seen birds exhibit the wandering behavior when they are sick from cold. But I would guess it to be an incubation problem. Hard for me to say in that case, look in the incubation trouble shooting place.
