To all our friends in Alberta, Canada. This includes you Reeves, I hope that you are in a safe place and no where near theses wildfires.

I can't imagine the devastation that is taking place there and putting people in harms way, including the oil workers within that area.

Take care my friends,

Steve

I'm 4 hours south of there & OK.
Winds have been in my favor (mostly) and no smoke.

However, extremely dry conditions in all of AB.
Creek along my place has less than a foot of water & should have 3-4 feet this time of year...... so my fire pump is nearly useless.

Have "stuff" ready to go just in case of a local fire though.

Ft. Mac was hit hard. 2400 structures burned or damaged. over 80k people de-homed. For now. Going to be a long haul for them......

Worked this past winter up near there. From what I could tell from fire maps, the pipe line we put in was within the southern burn area , by Anzac. Including the work camp.
I left near the end of March though.

Clean up was supposed to be this summer. I will not be going. Bad lungs.

Sorry to hear about the bad lungs. Is this work related?

About 15 - 18 years ago I got some nasty Flu. Blood o2 got down to about 56% and was getting tunnel vision.
Went to the Hospital & they freaked, cause when that happens the heart likes to protest by quitting.
Nine others in there with the same Flu at the time.
Couldn't breath. Spent 3 days in there & ended up with lung damage from it.

Only time it slows me down now is when there is lots of smoke.
Dusty conditions like a few days ago - high winds & dry conditions + farmers had just planted their fields. Dust was like fog , at times couldn't see 20 yards.

Or when I mig weld too much

Four different drugs to inhale keep me going.

Lots of (gas) mig welding to do yet.
All seams are getting welded. All rust cut out & replaced with new metal.
Going to install sub frames & big tubs.
Lots more......
