Sorry this has nothing to do with bird hunting but I had to show you guys this photo. I had the best bowhunt of my life this past Saturday morning. Two days after my birthday and look what i did. Not one but 2 big bucks. The 6 point was 208 field dressed and the 10 point was 185. Looks like we are going to be OK this year in the meat department!

Nice!  That 6 point has quite a nice wide skinny spread on him for a 6 point. We're only allowed one buck in OH for the whole year, gun or bow. The deer are plentiful around my nick of the woods. There's just way too many and are in need of a thinning out. Thanks for the pic.

In this part of Virginia we can kill as many as your willing to pay for! You get 6 stamps on the big game ticket (3 doe and 3 buck) and then you can choose to by more if you like. The only limit is 2 a day. I think Loudoun County had a total kill last year of over 9000. That was a special day for me and I'm sure it will never happen again at least with the bow.

Two very nice Bucks!  We have similar here in Charlotte County.  I'm not much on bow hunting though so I guess I'll just have to wait until November for regular firearms season.  Looks like the deer are plentiful this year.  Congrats......

Thanks Larry. Where is Charlotte County? How far are you from Winchester?

I am 5 minutes from Buggs Island Lake which is near the NC border.  Winchester is probably 3 hours from here or more.  Takes me a little over 3 hours to drive to Charlottesville.

O yes...I thought I had heard of Charlotte County. I grew up in West Point. My Dads side of the family is from Williamsburg and Mom from Yorktown. If your ever up this way give a shout or if you have time I'll take you out hunting over a great French Brittney. 540-554-2286 We are in Bluemont right on the Shenandoah river.

Sounds good.  May do that.  If youre down this way I'll take you out for some good Striper fishing on the lake.  Charlotte County is pretty quiet.  If you remember the movie Sommersby with Jodie Foster and Richard Gere you will see quite a bit of Charlotte as alot of it was filmed here.  I was offered the opportunity to be an extra in it but I didnt.  Regret it now.....  Take care.
