Damn Racoons are pi$$ing me off the last few days also.
Just after getting over a major storm a few weeks ago with power out for 4 days, spending $50.00 a day for gas to run the generator, then after coming home & finding the circut blown for the incubator and hatcher. It was too late, a hatch started & one bird made it out. Everything was so cold I scrapped 870 eggs total.

Now in the last week, Racoons. They are grabbing birds feet & birds are legless if not dead. I had to put pieces of cardboard on parts of the bottom of pens so legs can't be grabed. I set the live trap, first night nothing. Second nite my wifes cat.
See what happens tonite with the trap. Might even set up a baby monitor out there and if I hear a ruckus sneak out c110
Might be a while till I can get a e-fencer going.
Just when I thought I might be able to break even this year.
I really don't want to have to break out the fly bait & coke

Sorry to hear about that drwink.  We've had plenty of power outages here this year too, luckily I haven't had anything incubating or brooding when it happens.  Fortunately, I've only got 10 BW's in the pen in which their friends had been killed by the varmints in the past, so they've had past experiences with coons, so they seem to set tight away from the sides and stay low now.

Good Luck to ya.

No
The 870 eggs in question went into the dumpster at work. I never scrap them at home or on the property.
Did get one in the live trap night before last. Um... he went to visit the dumpser also. i9
