we have 3 5 1/2 week old Cortunix Quail. an English, a Tuxedo, and a solid black one. They are all feathered out except a few feather stems on the head. The solid black one has one white feather on it's chest, i thought this was a male until today. The English is chasing around the other 2 and biting the feather on the back of their necks and trying to jump on their backs like our chickens do. Also, the English is making weird but loud noises. Does this mean that the english is a male, and the other 2 are females?

Your english is probly a male. especially if he is crowing. Lift its tail up and look for the cloacal gland right above the vent. If its got one it is a male. Squeeze it to tell if he's sexually active you will see white foam if he is.
