2-3 days ago I started up the old 86 GMC to drive over to the neighbors place.
After starting it up, I walked into the shop for something while it was warming up.
I noticed what looked like chunks of soot that had been "shot" out of the exhaust pipes.
I took about three steps before I thought Huh ? What are chunks of soot that size doing shooting out of the exhaust ?
Walked back and picked up a piece......it was Black oil (sunflower) seeds !

Black Capped Chickadee's are stuffing the darn things all over the place !

Quit giving the seeds to them!?    :-|     Take their food away for a couple weeks and they'll eat what they have stored.  You sure it was the bird in tail pipe?  Sounds like mice to me if it were very far back up in the pipe.

Years ago, I had mice stuff the dual exhaust on a old car with what appeared to be about 50lbs of dog food when I started it.  I've seen an engine bend a rod because of things that mice put in the cyclinders through an open valve.

Sorry Reeves, I thought it was obvious. Anyway, we at work have a mouse that built a nest in a semi tractor. For the life of us we cannot figure out how it got in.

No mouse tracks around the truck, and the truck is a good ways away from the feeder.

It's Chickadees doing the deed !

I'm not a city boy like you lads are !
