I'm having a problem with my electronic thermostat. My 2nd one just went bad. Should I stay with the kind I have or switch to a wafer style? I heard the wafer is sensitive to the outside temp. This is what I have now  https://www.gqfmfg.com/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=149 . I'm also using a 250 watt heating element. Any help would be great. thanks  dh1

First off, what model GQF do you have, and what modifications if any have you made so far.

when i put it in it's fine for one hatch. but when i start it back up it doesn't want to work. it will heat up to 80-85 deg and stop there. this is the 2nd 1 that i put in and it's doing it again. what can i do differently?

The thermostat should be in front of the heating element and next to your humidity pan.

I believe that you should have those vent holes on the thermostat facing down as well.

i put the pan right in front of the fan. could the location of the thermostat be making it go bad? should i stay with an electronic or go with the waffer style? i have to buy a new 1 any way.

The heating element belongs in front of the fan and the fan blows the air over the humidity pan. The thermostat is suppose to be in front of the fan along side the humidity pan. Like I said, I do believe the holes in your thermostat are to be facing down.

I do not see a picture of the fan and heating element together. All I see is the thermostat and fan facing the wrong way in conjunction to the thermostat.

Look at the inside of this GQF Sportsman incubator and you will understand what I am talking about. If yours is not similar to this, that could be the problem of your thermostat being no good. GQF only warranties their parts if they are a replacement for their GQF equipment
