Title: 15 New Babies!
Post by: buffett-phan on March 26, 2008, 09:01:01 PM

My first hatch went better than expected.  I had 30 eggs...3 broken...7 clear...5 still in incubator and 15 chicks.

Of course my efforts may be in vain.  My Dad and husband were walking around the farm Sunday afternoon and they saw a hawk swoop down into a covey and come back up with one.  Atleast we haven't seen the bobcat in a long time.

well predators shouldn't be a problem if you have them in pens with 1/2" fencing.

Congrats on your newborns. p42

They said it was a small hawk so I'm guessing Cooper's.  I have seen one around a couple of times.
