Title: USPS eats A$$ !!!
Post by: 333_okh on July 10, 2008, 10:18:33 PM
I know this has been discussed and I know this will get deleted, but before it does I want to go on record with my pains.  I have have four shipments of eggs this year and all were packaged by the sender very well, but all of them came to be significantly damaged.

Today the box, heavily marked with "Fragile" and "Eggs" was crushed half of the width of the box.  I lost half of the eggs.

Of the eggs shipped to me less than half have been okay to incubate eventhough I tried a few I should not have.

I am assuming somewhere locally I am having the problem since I hear of others doing much better, but I would love to have a short chat with the individual who is wasting the eggs and all of our time.  I would like to have them feel what 6'8" and 305 pounds feels like sitting on thier "Fragile" bodies!

If they get smashed every time why don't you pay for insurance and then file the claims? After USPS pays out for every one of your egg shipments they'll either fire the carrier or be sure your eggs get to you unhurt. The eggs are definitely worth the extra $2.00 or so of ins.
Your other choice is UPS who has them insured up to $100 for free.
My eggs came through UPS and were perfect.

Sorry to hear that, I've never had any problems yet, but I'm sure many do.

I've never had a problem with egg shipments. I also insure them as well. The chances on collect an insurance claim is probably slim to none though.

Post a picture of the package..

10 years buying eggs on Internet and only 1 problem and it was the shippers fault because of his crappy packing...I have also shipped thousands of eggs this year and not one single person has had any complaints...I am good to go with USPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds as though it could be a local PO problem?  Is there somebody at the PO, that's PO'ed at you?  Maybe some PETA nut workin' there?

Looks like we have found the problem.  To say the least I was not the only person with problems.  One staff had been retired early, and another fired.

The problem is now we do not seem to even get the packages! I have had two lost in shipping this year since the replacement.  That never happened before, and one was returned to the shipper with a note that there is no such address.....PO Box! I have a PO Box, out of 2000 boxes mine is less than 100, how does that work????

Yeah, I've had to call the postmaster a few times. It seems like it's needed when I get a new delivery guy.
I did have a buddy that was a carrier for a while. Their regulations do have a maximum number of feet they are required to walk from the sidewalk/vehicle to the mail box. Also another one if you have pets.

Reading these makes me want to hug my carrier. She is a jewel. Brings packages to the door if she thinks they will freeze in the box, or wont fit.  My pup Lady loves her, and she wont let the UPS driver in the garage.

The postmisstriss is much the same, I am blessed.
