I bought some quail eggs on ebay on friday and paid immediately. The seller told me today that he shipped them friday, I checked the confirmation # and it said it was accepted in hudson, FL. at 2:08pm, I usually get weekend packages in the 3 days like normal but if by chance they don't get here until tuesday will they be good? I have to get my incubator heated up, get water in it and get the temperature and humidity regulated tonight.

They will be ok. I have turned eggs for over a week before placing in an incubator and have had no trouble with a hatch.

yes they should be fine I'm surprised that he sent them out on a Friday but at least you know they will be here by Tuesday just remember to let them sit at least 8 hours before you put them in your incubator

most people ship on Monday, Tuesday or on Wednesday

I dont sell or ship eggs but would only ship monday or tuesday to insure that they do not sit in post office over weekend

I totally agree with you. I guess I just assumed everyone shipped eggs only monday through wednesday.

even shipping on a Saturday is better then a Friday. hehehe

I agree they should be okay but you never know what the handling will be like in transit. Hopefully, they were packed and handled well!

Hi Kat,
It's just a good idea to let the eggs rest and settle for awhile after being shipped. Times suggested varies, I've heard anything from a minimum of 4 hours, to up to 24 hours. I think 6-8 is enough.

hello Kat you should let them sit at least 8 hours before setting in your incubator so that the egg can settle down from all the movement from the trip it just took. you know how the post office can be plus it needs to get to room temperature if its cold outside . never just get them and put them into an incubator

also from what I hear if you do not let them get to room temperature befor placing in your incubator thry can get temperature shock and kill the fertile eggs.

went to the post office this morning and the eggs were not here yet. I am guessing this guy sent them parcel post not priority. So I could get them anytime between now and friday. This guy is really ticking me off. I am not a guy to mess with today, I need to get some caffiene and nicotine in me, lol.
