Carrying over Breeders or Start Anew ?

Im raising the following quail now and was thinking of carrying over breeders next year.Im raising Northern Bobs,Jumbo Wisconsins,Butler Bobs,Gambels and Valleys.  Do any of you carry over breeders to the following year or start over every year with chicks ? Which do you think is more cost effective.  Chicks seem to consume more feed than adults. What do most of you do and do you notice any fertility drop if you carry over? Thanks for the responses !

i start over with new chicks every year, after pushing egg production for 5 or 6 months they are tired.. alan

WE CHANGE OUR BREEDERS EVERY 2 YEARS, I KEEP MY OWN NEW HENS AND BUY NEW MALES I DO THIS WITH ALL MY DIFFERENT BREEDS OF QUAIL, HAVE KEPT VALLEYS AND GAMBLES FOR THREE YEARS WITH NO PROBLEMS.

is my first year so I can't tell you.
I am however I am wintering about 25 Jumbo's this year that I hatched hoping I will get some eggs out of them to start next year with my own eggs & then order some others.
I have courtnix also but may not keep them to long.

I will be watching this tread to learn more from the veterans.
