Have any of you used Chuckar in a recall pen? Would like to try some and have a few questions.

Such as, how many do you need to keep in the pen to sucessfully recall?
How well do they recall?
How many  can I keep in a pen with inside dimensions of 3ft wide by 9ft long with outside attached pen that is pretty close to 10ft x 10ft?
What size should the funnel be?

Thanks!

I've never used chukar in a recall pen before, but I'm sure it would work.  All you should need in the recall pen is one hen.

The funnel should be big enough for them to comfortably enter.  Whatever you think is big enough for them usually works.

How many chukar do you have or plan on getting or are putting in the pen?

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the post.

I don't have any yet, was thiing along the lines for 14-20 depending on cage retrictions, space needed for birds. And how many to keep in the pen vs releasing. Would like to release 10-12 at a time for some dog work.

With the cage dimensions listed in my first post would they be crowded with 20 birds?

They should be just fine with the cage you have right now even with 14-20 birds.

If you want to release 14 at a time you might want to get an incubator to hatch eggs or will you just order more birds when the supply gets low?
