Title: Wintering Birds in Missouri
Post by: backyardquail on September 13, 2010, 02:47:38 PM
I am new to raising quail.  I am have my birds on wire in raised cages.  I have seen post on this site to just cover them with a tarp for the winter.  Does that help keep out drafts that would come from underneath the cages as well?

Thanks in advance!

We wrap the legs on our cages with plastic from home building center to stop the drafts.
Along with that we have 2x2 sand boxes in the pens .
That gives them a solid bottom .

Thanks for the feedback.  I actually made mine a tripod setup, so wrapping the legs wouldn't cover it all.  I might have to improvise a couple extra legs for the winter.   :?:
