Title: Suppers Ready!
Post by: CharlieHorse on October 01, 2008, 10:21:34 AM
Here's a picture of my brothers dog.  I gave him a chicken tractor and 3 hens, this is the first time he let the chickens out to roam the yard.  I told him that terrier will have one of them when he least expects it........someday.....somehow.

I  loved the pic!  When you enlarge it, you can see his tongue licking his chops.   The look on his face says  '"HHHHHHmmmmm little sage, little rosemary, nobody watching,  mmmmmmmmmmmmmm  good!"

Cool pic charlie, dog sure looks hungry, but i bet those hens will outrun him if he trys to snatch.

My sister-in-law sent it too me. The look on the dogs face is a good one. I'd have to blow the picture up and frame it.  I wouldn't trust her around any poultry.

The terrier I have is the fastest dog around, everybody around with dogs bigger and smaller says they have never seen a dog as fast as that thing is.  ^-^   You need to see a terrier in action, those chickens wouldn't have a chance. They'll act like they are cool with chickens and would never harm a feather.................until you're not around......... a31.  Those hens will squat, hold still and put their wings out when you get after them, very easy to catch, and they have no fear of the dogs, so they would be an easy meal for any dog.

Getting pictures like the terrier with their tongues hanging out are priceless.

This picture of rescue (GSP) is not photoshopped.

Think this dog would have herself a chicken sandwich if she got the chance?   ^-^

birdlover17-18 1/2,  No, that dog didn't get to be that color from eating those chickens.

I dont particularly mind it if its not mine. Even that I have a tolerance for.

Interesting the twists this thread takes.

I have learned a lot... My bobs are outside in a raised 8x12x6' pen. Have been thinking about trying some chukars next year myself.  Who knows. My friend who happens to be the local wildlife officer is kinda working with me in this whole venture. He wants to buuy acreage and start a preserve.... LOL! He's dreamin' big. I think 80-100 chukars or quail or something will do just fine.. Just something else to take up my time and spend my $$. LOL!
