Hi Folks -

We're newbies at raising quail, and we just hatched our first eggs.  Today I was feeding the chicks and noticed weevils in their starter feed.  Should I replace the feed?  I wa thinking the extra protein from the bugs might suit the chicks very well.  All responses will be greatly appreciated... thanks a million.

Replace it......good fresh starter has enough protein in it.

I disagree, if the birds are eating them, leave them. If I am wrong then I have chosen the lesser of two weevils! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I think, just the nature of the beast this  time of year, they eat bugs in the wild and I havent noticed it hurting them yet, they eat it fine and its hard to keep the bugs out this time of yr. anyway, I say feed it to them..Russ
