If that is a real picture, I'd guess that somebody has been feeding the deer?  A friend of mine can grab the antlers on one particular buck that has been coming to his feeder for the past 3-4 years and will eat out of his hand too.  The deer act as if he's part of the group.  Of course, he feeds them year round............$$$$$$!!

Went for a drive & walk around the field today. Saw a Great Grey owl. While trying to get a closer look, I was walking quietly into the wind. Spooked up a big White Tail from about 25' ! Spooked me fairly well !  :laugh: Funny how they can live so close (within sight of my place) and you just don't know.
Also saw two Spruce Grouse (that the owl will likely kill) and a Coyote.
All lived to see another day !
Actually, I will not harvest a buck in Nov. Way too stinky/poor meat: can't eat the antlers.
