The wife and I are thinking of keeping lights on our breeders, year round to continue egg production for pickling only (Nov.-Feb.). Question: Will they continue to breed or is "breeding season" dependent upon other factors than light duration? Our breeders look pretty rough right now (beat up and bald) and I don't think they could sustain a continuous breeding cycle.

Our other thought was to have a pen of hens only. Thoughts? Advice?  ty2
